The Catholic Church has released smart electronic beads eRosary. According to Engadget, with their help, the Vatican hopes to attract technologically advanced youth to the church.
The device consists of 10 beads made of black agate, as well as a smart cross in which all information is stored. The rosary can track the process of reading the Rosary prayer – a combination of oral and mental prayer performed with the rosary. The device also monitors the physical activity of the owner.
The beads were developed by Acer. The cost of the device is 85 euros. The kit includes a station for wireless charging.
